Getting alerts when there are problems with SpatialOS clusters

If you use OpsGenie with your game in production, you can subscribe to receive alerts if a SpatialOS cluster has a problem.

Prerequisites

  • You have admin rights on your OpsGenie team. You’ll need this in order to create a new integration.

1. Create an integration on OpsGenie

  1. Go to the Integrations section of your OpsGenie admin page:

    Integrations section

  2. Open the Add New Integrations tab, and choose Status.io.

  3. In the instructions section of the setup page, take note of this URL(you’ll need it for Status.io):

    Copy URL

  4. Assign your new integration to the appropriate team, and click Save Integration:

    Integration settings page

2. Subscribe to Status.io updates

  1. Go to the SpatialOS Status.io page and click Subscribe:

    SpatialOS Status.io page

  2. Choose the Webhook option and enter your OpsGenie URL and email address:

Subscribe to receive status updates by webhook

  3. Click Subscribe - you will receive an email with an activation link. Follow the link to open this configuration page:

    Manage subscription

  4. Choose the clusters you want to be notified about. This will probably be:

    • the platform clusters
    • the prod clusters for the region in which your game is running
  5. Click Save Subscription.

You’ve finished! You’ll now get an OpsGenie notification if there’s a problem with the clusters you chose.
