Welcome to the SpatialOS documentation

SpatialOS is a platform-as-a-service providing managed cloud services that solve common technical and production challenges of creating, iterating on, and hosting multiplayer games. It runs games in a way that lets them scale further, be more complex, and have long-living persistence.

Get started with Unreal or Unity

Get started with another game engine

You can use any game engine or your own game code with SpatialOS. However, even if you are planning to use a game engine that’s not Unreal or Unity, we recommend evaluating SpatialOS functionality with the GDK for Unreal or the GDK for Unity.

For guidance on using another game engine, see Integrating a game engine with SpatialOS.

For a high-level introduction to “thinking spatially”, take a look at the Concepts documentation.
